The Korean Weight Loss Program uses an herbal formula to supplement the modified diet and fasting schedule.
The herbal formula contains Korean Ginseng and Licorice Root, among other ingredients in our propietary formula.
These herbs are Qi tonics in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Qi, loosely translated pertains to energy. Ginseng is used as a rescue herb for those who've been emaciated due to starvation and malnutrition.
The herbs are delivered raw for the customer to cook at home.
Cooking instructions for the Herbal Formula.
1. Remove herbs from pack.
2. Simmer (bring to a boil, then turn down to simmer) herbs in 12 cups of water for 90 minutes. (Add 1 cup of water during the cooking process).

This program is consists of a 1 day Fast followed by 9 days of Time Restricted Fasting which is designed to lose up to 8% body weight. During this time, you will be given an herbal formula to supplement for the fast, along with daily recommendations of water, juice, and food. This fast is designed to change dietary habits that lead to weight gain. Without changes to dietary habits weight gain may occur after the fast is over.
Contraindications of diet – Refrain from program if you are diabetic, pregnant &/ or breast feeding, having your menstrual period, have chronic disease, are elderly, have severe liver disease, are anemic, kidney disease, or if you suffer from an eating disorder, mental illness or a chronic condition which needs medication. If you suffer from bulimia, anorexia, or other eating disorder. It is possible to lose too much weight by under eating. Do not starve yourself. Eat if you are underweight, feel weakness, dizziness, or oncoming loss of consciousness. This fast is not suitable for children. Consult with your doctor before beginning program. Do not operate heavy machinery if symptoms of fatigue, dizziness, unwellness, or loss of consciousness exists. If you feel faint or dizzy eat a granola or candy bar.
Fasting - There are several variations of fasting. Some involve drinking only water or juices, or other non-solid foods. During fasting, the main source of energy used by the body comes from hydrolyzing fatty acids from triglycerides stored in adipose tissue (fat cell). While fasting, the body's metabolism alters for survival by using more fat as fuel and decreasing energy expenditure. Usually, by 24 hours of fasting, the use of glucose as a fuel has decreased and stored fat becomes the body's major fuel. Fat oxidation is increased. (Reference https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK22414/)
Because many toxins are sequestered in fat, fasting may be helpful in releasing these toxins from the body. Initially, a person may feel worse during a fast because of the mobilization of toxins. Resting and drinking plenty of fluids are therefore helpful during a fast.
As a result of toxins being released from fat stores common side effects of short term fasting may include: headaches, nausea, coated tongue, dizziness, skin rashes, acne, aching limbs & muscles, feeling colder than usual, insomnia, urine may be cloudy or darker than usual and your bowels may stop functioning during the fast. Other symptoms of fasting may occur such as fatigue, dizziness, constipation, dehydration, and not being able to tolerate cold temperatures. If the symptoms persist with severity, it is recommended to break the fast, with a light snack.
Korean/ Chinese Herbs: I understand that substances from Korean Herbal Formula Oriental Materia Medica may be recommended to normalize the body’s physiological functions. I understand that I am not required to take these substances but must follow the directions for administration and dosage if I do decide to take them. The herbs may have an unpleasant taste or smell. Herbs in the Korean Weight Loss Formula are from plants. They are traditionally considered safe in the practice of Chinese Medicine, although some may be toxic in large doses. I understand that some herbs may be inappropriate during pregnancy.
I am aware that certain adverse side effect may result from taking these substances during the Korean Weight Loss Program. These could include, but are not limited to: changes in bowel movement, abdominal pain, nausea, gas, headache, diarrhea, rashes, hives, tingling of tongue, or discomfort, and the possible aggravation of symptoms existing prior to herbal treatment. Should I experience any problems, which I associate with these substances, I should suspend taking them.
